Bristol-based rock trio Krooked Tongue release album ‘I know a place’.
Next up on New Releases spotlight is dynamic rock trio 'Krooked Tongue' with their much-anticipated attention-demanding debut full-length studio album 'I Know a Place', arriving April 24th. The record, crafted from true creative ambition and real-world struggle, is exciting. After years of steady growth and honing their craft, the Bristol rockers are ready to deliver their most realised and hard-hitting work to date.
The album is filled with gritty riffs, powerful choruses that can invigorate any space, and anthemic hooks that embody contemporary rock at its most vital and authentic form, delivering a bold and assured statement from a band which has found its footing. Vocalist and lyricist Oli Rainsford cites
"We live in turbulent times where people will too gladly pin their politics to the mast and let human connection fall by the wayside. We are only to blame for our failure to connect, falling into the abyssal trenches of division. Despite the commentary on the state of society, as a band we aim to allow the listener to find escapism from reality, an umbrella to the acid rain, where underneath sit two deck chairs and a cooler full of beers. This album hopes to bring back the love that we have so carelessly released our grip from.”
With that ethos, Krooked Tongue doesn't just channel this frustration in their creative process, but they reshape it into a unifying and uplifting experience. The album invites its listeners to immerse themselves in its contagious energy, offering itself as a release and burst of energy. Offering as a rally point in trying times and finding strength in the power of music.
'I Know A Place' offers itself as a debut, but you can tell a real execution of conviction and intent behind it. This doesn't feel like a band testing the waters, but rather a band jumping headfirst into a pool of unapologetic passion. The debut is a rock 'n' roll manifesto that I'm sure the band will follow up on.
